One course was notable in that it included a half-term of completely independent study, on the topic of a student&#039;s choice; I chose hybrid orbitals. I also read about the Superconducting Super Collider, gaining an interest in modern physics.<br /> <br /> ==Extracurricular activities==<br /> *Independent music study. Chris Stowens asked me to learn the department&#039;s new Yamaha CX music computer, and to incorporate a Kurzweil K250 into music performances.<br /> *Yearbook editing and photography.<br /> *Computer club. I learned to program in BASIC under the mentorship of two older students. We used Wang computers donated by Dr. An Wang, a parent.</div>
