I'm searching for a bass cabinet to replace, improving, a Peavey TKO 115.
Desired specifications
I'd like it to work with both electric bass and a subwoofer channel after a 180Hz crossover, so it should have at least good sensitivity between 30Hz and 180Hz.
Bass cabinets
A cabinet made for electric bass will handle the full range of frequencies coming from a bass, unlike subwoofers (see below) that won't play anything over 200Hz without mud. But instrument cabinets won't have the flat response of subwoofers, and won't make it down to 30Hz like many subs with 18" cones.

Subwoofers
A dedicated subwoofer, with very large speakers, will have a flatter response between 30Hz and ~200Hz, so will handle kick drums and other very low frequency sounds better than an amp for electric bass.
A 12" sub will respond well down to around 50Hz, while an 18" sub will respond well down to around 35Hz.
