Why keep a list of professionals in your field?

I've met a lot of important physics teachers over the years, and finally figured out it's time to keep track of the great things they do so I can recall them when necessary. EnergyTeachers.org serves that purpose for energy, but there's a lot more to physics than energy. LinkedIn serves the purpose of keeping in touch with professionals, but this list transcends personal connections and focuses more on wider achievements.

Teachers

Jeff Weitz
A teacher at Horace Mann in NYC, Jeff was recommended to me by Emma Zuroski while studying history of science at Cornell. He keeps a blog for his class, including problems, solutions, inspirational epigrams, etc.: http://phywi.tumblr.com/
