Sometimes by overstepping the bounds of social order, the expectations on them, scientists have added to their field. They can either draw on new resources, shift political alliances, take on new mentors, or otherwise draw contrast to a tight-knit community. (Harding, p. 148<bibref>HardingFSE:2001</bibref>)
