I attended as a boarder from 1983 to 1987.
Significant courses I took
- Two years of PSSC physics.
- Two years of chemistry. One course was notable in that it included a half-term of completely independent study, on the topic of a student's choice; I chose hybrid orbitals. I also read about the Superconducting Super Collider, gaining an interest in modern physics.
Extracurricular activities
- Independent music study. Chris Stowens asked me to learn the department's new Yamaha CX music computer, and to incorporate a Kurzweil K250 into music performances.
- Yearbook editing and photography.
- Computer club. I learned to program in BASIC under the mentorship of two older students. We used Wang computers donated by Dr. An Wang, a parent.
