About our music

Kobi and I, our evergreen theme seems to be to play music by very out bands. I like to think of myself as a Martin Gore, closeted het. Out music is usually fun, sarcastic, and it speaks to everybody of the pain and gain of reconciling who you are with who everyone else is.

Rambling retrospective

Kobi, I, and many other members of our class took music very seriously in school, a devotion like any varsity team member. I for one made many many mistakes in execution, but I relish the recollection of trying. I remember the audacity of co-writing and performing with TJ a thinly veiled torch song at a dance in the dining hall. The freakiest sound heard at any concert was Joe's sax reed played backwards over my otherwise boring study of counterpoint at a concert. I still think people thought I was playing all sorts of parts live as one-man-band backup of a Communards song for kobi, when actually I was just playing a simple lead behind the giant Kurzweil K250. I know I didn't take compliments well in school, but I very much respected the work and opinion of the rest of the musicians on campus. 23:29, 4 April 2012 (PDT)
