To dial from France back to the U.S. or any U.S. number, dial 001- area code and number. To dial within the country dial locally. To listen to voice mails press and hold down the 1 key, follow the prompts, interrupt the greeting by pressing the (*) key, enter your voice mail password. The per minute rate applies for listening to your voice mails, also, if your phone is ON and someone calls you or leaves you a voice mail the per minute rate will also apply. In order to avoid these charges have your phone OFF when not in use.

AT&T World Traveler

Allows you to make and receive calls while traveling in more than 215 countries at discounted rates(?). Also allows you to make calls to International locations from the U.S. at pay-per-use rates. To place calls to the U.S. while traveling abroad, simply dial ("+"1)(area code)(number).

iPhone

Use #Skype when in WiFi range.

Be sure to turn off any features you don't need, such as push email, contacts, and calendar. Or, use Airplane mode with WiFi on to turn off just the use of the phone lines for data retrieval.

Your line has the standard international feature at $0 per month and $1.29 per minute to make or receive calls while traveling in France.

AT&T offers the discounted rate at $5.99 per month and $0.99 per minute to make or receive calls in France.

Data charges at $0.0195 per Kilobyte, approximately $20.00 per Megabyte.

AT&T offers the following data plans:

• 20 Megabytes for $24.99 per month.
• 50 Megabytes for $59.99 per month.
• 100 Megabytes for $119.99 per month.
• 200 Megabytes for $199.99 per month.

Text messages are charged are $0.50 to send, received messages are deducted from your 200 domestic text messaging package, any received message over the 200 are charged at $0.20 per text to receive.

Picture messages are charged at $1.30 to send and $0.30 to receive

Skype is software that works on computers and smartphones (over Wi-Fi).

Skype-to-Skype calls are always free.
